Yo, this is Duolan

My name is Duolan Ouyang, and I am a second year Computer Science student at UC San Diego. I am passionate about software developing and machine learning, and my favorite is to build application using machine learning knowledge.

Besides web development, I am a big fan of Data Science. I am currently working in a BioInformatics Lab as research assistant, and the main project now is analyzing the role of genetics in early brain development.

In the past year, I have been working as academic tutor for UCSD Computer Science Department and UCSD Cognitive Science Department. I have tutored CSE 8B - Introduction to Java and COGS 18 - Introduction to Python. The class I am tutoring now is CSE11 Summer 2020.

Currently, I am working remotely with Add-Care Limited as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern. I work on the Motion Detection team and AWS Algorithm team for wearable glucose monitor device.

My current job is to analyze and train Deep Learnign models based on the data detect by the watch, including recover PPG waveform, classify sleeping stages and so on.

I have been tutoring programming intro-level course for a year. My main job is helping students debug and write test cases for programming assignments. The class I have tutored are:

Last summer, I had an internship at iSoftStone (Nanjing, China) as a fontend engineer. iSoftStone is the third largest software outsourcing company in China. There, my collegue and I developed a micro Service system by using Spring Boot Framework. I contributed the user interface by using an amazing framework layui.

IntelliKitchen is an IOS Application that serves as an intelligent kitchen manager building by Swift. It can track users food in the fridge and recommand recipes based on the food expiration date. It can also track users chores and set notification to remind users of doing chores.

Users will be able to find exciting projects within seconds, with the potential ability to customize searches, follow accounts, and establish connection to projects in one-click.

DefNote Home Page

DefNote - Web App

Technology used: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python

DefNote can analyze your text and generate flashcards with vocab and definition automatically. When user inputs some text, our algorithm will first recognize all the terminologies that relates to the field of study user chose. Then, system will scrape the definition of the terms recognized by Wikipedia API. Finally, flashcards will be generated by JavaScript and HTML.

Technology used: Node.js, JavaScript, MySQL, AWS, Python

Recipe 101 can recommand recipes according to the ingredients users select. User can choose either to manually check ingredients, or upload a receipt from market. Our system used Node.js and MySQL as our backend platform and database. The project won the Health and Wellness track at SD Hacks 2019.
